Flora
The park consists of evergreen forest grassland and bamboos. Trees like
Sal, Saj (Terminalia tomentosa), Tendu, Arjun (Terminalia arjuna), Dhaora
(Anogeissus latifolia), Amla (Emblica officinalis), Palas (Butea
monosperma), Jamun (Syzygium Cumini), Salai (Boswellia serrata), Mango
(Mangifera indica) are commonly found here. Lagerstroemia, Boswelia,
Pterocarpus and Madhuca enhances the beauty of the park.
Fauna
Tiger forms the main fauna of the sanctuary. Besides tigers other animals
which are found here are Leopards, Caracals, Jungle Cats, Jackals, striped
Hyenas, Dholes, Small Indian Civets, Ratels, Flying Foxes, Gaurs, Sloth
Bears, Rhesus Macaques, Indian Muntjac, Chausingha, Sambar, Chital, Nilgai,
Chinkara, Langurs, Black-napped Hare, Barking Deer, Wild boar, Indian
Mongoose, Rock Python, Spectacled Cobra, Common Krait and the Rat Snake.
Avifauna
More than 250 species of domestic and migratory birds attracts the bird
watchers to this park. Blossom-Headed Parakeets, Crested Serpent Eagle, Grey
Hornbill, Drongos, Common Teal, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Lesser Whistling
Teal, Minivets, Little Grebes, Lesser Adjutants, Pied Hornbill, Paradise
Flycatchers, Red Wattled Lapwing, Steppe Eagle, Tickell's Flycatcher,
Peafowl, Red Jungle Fowl, White-eyed Buzzard, White-breasted Kingfisher,
White-browed Fantail Flycatcher, Wood shrikes and Warblers makes this park a
bird paradise.
Major Attractions
Bandhavgarh Fort

This fort lies at an elevation of 800m and was constructed by the Maharajas
of Rewa. From the fort visitors can have a breathtaking view of the wildlife
and surroundings area. Beauty of the fort is enhanced by river Charganga
which flows besides the fort. Numerous statues and temples can be seen here.
Panna
It is well known for the diamond mines and also houses Panna National Park
and the Ken Ghariyal Sanctuary. It is also famous for it's diamond mines.
