Vegetation consists of dry deciduous forest, scrubs and grasslands. Most of the forest is covered with Dhok tree. Other trees found here are gugul (Commiphora wightii), Kadaya (Sterculia urens), Khair, Tendu, Ber, Surwal, Goria, Jamun, Acacia, Salar, Arjun (Terminalia arjuna), Amla (Emblica officinalis), Bahera (Terminalia belerica). Arjun (Terminalia arjuna), gugul (Commiphora wightii), Kadaya (Sterculia urens), Amla (Emblica officinalis), Bahera (Terminalia belerica).
This sanctuary is home to diverse wildlife such as Nilgai, Sambar and Chital, Indian Porcupine, Striped Hyaena, Indian Palm Civet, Leopard, Rhesus Macaque, Bengal Fox, Wild Boar, Hanuman Langur, Ratel Small Indian Mongoose, Caracal Leopard, Four-horned Antelope, Indian Hare, Chinkara, Golden Jackal, Northern Palm Squirrel.
Tourists can see different species of birds such as Peafowl, Red Jungle Fowl, Golden Backed Woodpeckers, Spur Fowls, Small Buttonquail, Black Ibis, Lesser Whitethroat,White Breasted Kingfishers, Great Indian Horned Owls, Tree Pies, Crested Serpent Eagles, Greenish Warbler, Asian Pied Starling, Common Myna, Brahminy Starling, Chestnut-tailed Starling, Parakeets, Barn Owl, Common Hoopoe, Jungle Babbler, Drongos, White-rumped Vulture, Pariah Kite, Griffon Vulture, Shikra, Eurasian Sparrow hawk, Singing Bushlark, Sunbirds, Quails, Partridges, Sangrouse, and Vultures Eurasian Spoonbill, Tawny-bellied Babbler, Inornate Warbler, Common Tailorbird, Mottled Wood Owl, Tufted Duck, Darter, House Swift and other birds.

Covering an area of around 800 sqkm, the Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary lies in Alwar district of the state of Rajasthan.
The sanctuary can be visited throughout the year but it is best to go in the month of October to June.
