Mumbai, the capital city of the state of Maharashtra, is located on the western coast of India. A bunch of seven islands in the Arabian Sea, Mumbai was earlier called Bombay. Being the financial and communications centre it is also renowned as business capital of India. Mumbai houses famous hindi film and televison industry, Bollywood where maximum numbers of films are produced . Attractions

Siddhivinayak Temple

This 200 years old temple is situated in the Prabha Devi area of Mumbai and is dedicated to Lord Ganesh. The idol of Ganesh is madeup of black stone and is two and a half feet in height and two feet in width.

Juhu Beach

Situated 18 km north of the main city, this beach is really superb. It is a marvellous place to bring kids, as it has an amusement park, play ground, and open-air restaurant. Chowpatty in the Juhu beach is the prime attraction having food stalls of bhel puris, pav bhaji, pani poori. Carnival like environment can be seen in the chowpatty in the evening.

Gateway of India

Designed by George Wittet, this magnificient monument was constructed in the honour of King George V and Queen Mary's visit to bombay. This 26 m high structure is made of yellow stone in Indo- Sarcenic style.

Marine Drive

Commonly known as Queen's Necklace is one of the Mumbai's most famous sunset-watching spots. Located in the central Mumbai, it begins from the Malabar Hill, continues along the Arabian sea and ends at Nariman point. Street lights twinkling along the marine drive makes it more attractive and beautiful.
