Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, Hawa Mahal is the landmark of the city. It was built for women to see the processions on the road without being observed by others. Interestingly there is no entrance from the front, rather it's at the back. It looks more like a giant screen rather than a palace. The glimpse of its exclusive architectural beauty can be seen at sunrise.
City palace is famous for its exquisite blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture. The palace is so vast that it covers a seventh part of the city. While a section of the palace is still the residence of the Royal family , other sections are open for public. It houses structures like Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Badal Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple. The museum of the Palace is the real treat, it has special sections devoted to arms and ammunitions, textiles and costumes and art and artefacts.
JaipurJantar Mantar is among the five observatories built by Maharaja Sawai Singh. Jantar Mantar is the finest example of development of astronomical science in the past. It's considered to be the largest stone observatory in the worls . The instruments here were used to measure local time, sun's declination, determinig eclipsese etc. and give the most accurate reading.

Jaigarh fort was built in 1726 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh for bolstering security. The highlight of Jaigarh fort is Jaivan, world's largest cannon on wheels. The fort also houses an armoury and a museum.
