Dharamsala

Perched at an altitude ranging from 1250 mtrs to 1982 mtrs, Dharamsala offers a spell binding sight of the snow covered mountains, thick coniferous forests, tea gardens and the pictursque hills. Widely known for its Buddhist religion and culture, the hill station was founded in 1855 by the Britishers. It is divided into lower and upper Dharamsala and one can see the reflection of Tibetan culture in this Land of the Dalai Lama.

Mcleod Ganj
It is known as the Little Lhasa and lies at an altitude of 1770 mtrs above the sea level. It is also a residence of spiritual leader of Tibet, the Dalai Lama. The Buddha temple and several monasteries are worth visit here. This Buddhist settlement also offers a Flea Market on every Sunday and is a major attraction, not to be missed.

It is situated atop the hill offering breathtaking views of the Kangra valley and the Dhauladhar ranges. It is a favourite picnic spot among the visitors.

St. John's Church
The church lies enroute Mcleod Ganj and Forsyth Ganj in the forest and is dedicated to Lord Elgin, one of the viceroys of India, who died here in 1863. The church is known for its glass stained windows.
