Delhi,
the capital of republic of India is a vibrant city with people from all
parts of the country. Being the seat of Government of India, several
governments offices, foreign embassies and many multinational companies are
located here. Besides, one can also enjoy many magificent monuments built by
the Mughals, the Afghans, the Rajputs and other rulers here. Lush parks,

Chandigarh, widely known as the 'City of Roses' is the
capital of Punjab and Haryana. Located in the foothills of the Shivalik
range, this city is named after the Goddess Chandi. It is believed that this
modern city was designed by the French architect Le Corbusier and is one of
the most wonderful cities of India. Chandigarh is 248 kms from Delhi and is
well connected by road, rail and air.

The
Rock Garden is the most important attraction of the city. It was designed by
Nek Chand, a humble road inspector with waste materials. Another place of
interest here is Sukhna Lake. It is an ideal location for the nature lovers.
Another favourite site in Chandigarh is the Government Musuem and Art
Gallery. The Gallery has a wide collection of stone sculptures of the
Gandhara era along with modern art and miniature paintings. Other places of
worth visiting are Capitol complex, the Open Hand, Rose Garden, and Goddess
Chandi Temple.
Amritsar lies 280 kms from Delhi in the north-western
part of India in Punjab. This city of Golden Temple is an important
pilgrimage destinations for the Sikhs. Founded by Guru Ramdas Sahib, the
city has many religious, historical and contemporary sites of worth
visiting. It is never a problem for the visitors to travel to Amritsar by
rail and by road. Visitors who want to come to Amritsar by flight must land
at the Raja Sansi Airport which is just 10 km away from the main city.

There
are plenty of religious and historical sites to visit in and around
Amritsar.The
Golden
Temple is the notable attraction here. This temple is located at the
heart of the city and is considered an important landmark for the Sikhs. The
temple is characterised by four entrance doors in east, west, north and
south, attracting visitors from all over the world. Another attraction of
Amritsar is the Jallianwala Bagh. This historical memorial tells the sad
story of the 1919 massacre by the British General Dyer during the
Independence movement. Durgiana Mandir is also a noteworthy place of visit.
This marvelous temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and lies close to the
Golden Temple. Visitors can also be seen at the Wagah Border, which lies 28
kms from Amritsar. Change of guards ceremony and flag hosting by the border
security forces in this Indo-Pakistan border must not be missed.
