Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Khajuraho

India Gate, DelhiDelhi, the capital of India is a metropolitan city with a deep historical background. People from different parts of the country can be seen here adding to its cultural diversity and making it a cosmopolitan city. The city provides the tourist with much to admire, from historical monuments to modern buildings and from musuems to shopping malls.

Historical buildings are the prime attractions of Delhi. One of the important tourist attractions in Delhi is the Qutab Minar. It was constructed by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1199 A.D., concluded by Iltutmish. It is the highest stone tower of India. One can also see here Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Iron Pillar, Tomb of Iltutmish, Alai Darwaza and Alai Minar. The Red Fort should not be missed on a tour to Delhi as it is one of the oldest Mughal buildings. Inside the fort, Nawab Khana, Diwan-I-Aam, Diwan-I-Khas, Rang Mahal, Pearl Mosque, Musamman Burj, Khwabgah and Hammans are a worth visit.

Tourists must also see India Gate, Parliament House, Lotus Temple, Akshardham Temple and National Musuem.

Agra, the city of glorious Taj Mahal, is in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Besides Taj Mahal, one can see several other marvelous monuments here which reflects the rich historical backround of the city. The Taj Mahotsav also is a great exposure for the performing artists and draw tourists from far and wide to Agra. This colorful city attract tourists mostly in the winter months and is easily accessed by air, rail and road.

Agra FortTaj Mahal is a major attraction in Agra. Built by Shah Jehan in the loving memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, it is a masterpeice of the century. Another major tourist attraction in Agra is the Agra Fort. This fort houses many palaces and mosques within its premises and most prominent ones are Jahangir's Palace, Shish Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Moti Maszid and Nagina Maszid. The Swamiji Maharaj Temple, Aaram Bagh, Chini Ka Rauza, Jama masjid and Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb are added attractions of this World Heritage Site.


The pink city of Jaipur lies 262 kms from New Delhi and 240 km from Agra. This renowned city of Rajasthan, built by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727, is known for its architectural wonders. The magnificent palaces, forts and havelis standing here takes you back to the history. Folk dances, puppet shows and music performances reflecting the culture of this city are the attraction of this desert city.
The City Palace is one of the most common and popular tourist attractions in Jaipur. The City Palace is an excellent example of Mughal and Rajput architecture.The City Palace, Jaipur The palace has a musuem exhibiting a collection of manuscripts, minitatures, carpets and costumes of royal era. The Hawa Mahal is another beautiful landmark. It was built for the royal women folk to view the activities going on in the streets. The Amber Fort makes another wonderful sight to visit. Built in the 16th century, by Raja Man Singh, the fort offers magnificent view of the surrounding area. The Jantar Mantar is another famous tourists attraction in Jaipur. Jantar Mantar was built by Sawai Jai Singh in 1718. It is one of the five observatories built by the king to study the movement of stars. The Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Rambagh Palace, Kanak Valley are other tourist attractions in Jaipur.


Khajuraho is a well visited tourist center in Madhya Pradesh. 280 km from Gwalior, this town is famous for its several temples belonging to the ninth century to thirteenth century. This city of Chandellas is believed to be named after the numerous date palm trees that thrived in close proximity here. Khajuraho remains unique with its eighty five temple built by the Chandela kings. Visitors can access this temple town by air also as it is lucky to have the Khajurahi Airport. Jhansi or Harpalpur railway station is closest to Khajuraho.
KhajurahoKhajuraho offers lots of sightseeing. One can start from the eastern group of temples namely Adinatha Temple, Brahma Temple, Ghantai Temple, Javari Temple and Parsvanath Temple. Forwarding to South, visitors can see Duladeo Temple and Chaturbhuja Temple. On the west Archaelogical Musuem, Chausath Yogini, Chitragupta Temple, Devi Jagadamba Temple and Kandariya MahadevaTemple are worth a visit. Khajuraho offers a number of excursion sites as well such as Rajgarh Palace, Ranguan Lake, Raneh Falls and Panna National Park
