Andhra Pradesh Beaches
Andhra Pradesh is recognised by the vast
coastline extended to almost 1000 km. Beginning from the Bheemunipatnam
beach near Visakhapatnam down to Mypad beach in the Nellore district, the
coastline offers exotic and unspoilt beaches.
Bheemunipatnam
Beach
The beach lies at the coinfluence of the river Gosthani and the Bay of
Bengal It is 24 km from Visakhapatnam. The lighthouse, ruined fort and the
Dutch cemetry known as Hollanders Green can be seen here. The beach is known
for the shallow water and is best for swimming. It is also called the Bhimli
Beach .
Manqinapudi Beach
The beach lies 11km away from Machilipatnam in Krishna district. It is
known for the beautiful sites and is an ideal place for picnic. A
magnificent park with fountains add beauty to this beach.
Mypad Beach
The beach is located in the Nellore district and is famous for the long
sandy beaches and lush green coconut-palm groves. Long strolls are enjoyed
by the vistors on this beach.
Rishikonda Beach
It is close to Visakhapatnam and offers plenty of water sports activities
such as water skiing, wind surfing and swimming. Clear blue water of the sea
and sun kissed sand are awe-inspiring. Rishikonda Beach Festival is
celebrated here with great fervour on 2nd Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of
October. It is best to visit this beach during this festival.
Ramakrishna Beach
The Ramakrishna beach along with the Lawson's Bay is known for the pristine
beauty. The beach is in Visakhapatnam and is noted for sunbathing. Sea
cruises, fishing expeditions and other water sports activities are popular
here. The beach is best to view the alluring sunrise and sunset.
Suryalanka Beach
It is situated close to Bapatla and has wide shore. The beach is best for
swimming and sun bathing. It is perfect for those who prefer to go on beach
holidays to Andhra Pradesh.
Perupalem Beach
The beach is situated in the west Godavari district and is famous for the
paddy fields and coconut groves.
Motopalle Beach
The beach lies 12 km away from Chinaganjam and 45 km from Ongole. One can
see several Casuarina plantations along the beach attracting lots of
tourists.
Best Time to Visit
Summers are too hot with high humidity along the coast. So, it is best to
visit the beaches from October to March when its relatively pleasant and
cooler.
