Adventure Trekking in India

Visitors who prefer adventure holiday, trekking can be the best option to make the tour exciting and memorable. It is one of the fun loving adventurous sports which is good for health and together one can enjoy the beauty of nature. Foot hills of Himalaya, Garhwal and Kumaon regions of Uttaranchal, Chamba and Manali in Himachal Pradesh, Darjeeling , Sikkim, Ladakh and Zanskar in Jammu and Kashmir are some of the ideal destinations for trekking in India. Trekking in Darjeeling
Trekking in DarjeelingDarejeeling offers visitors the most exciting trekking options of both high and low level trek. April, May, October and November are best time to go for trekking. The Kalimpong-Relli to paddy fields, The Kurseong-Namsu to tea gardens are some of the low altitude treks which is easy. High altitude trek in the Kalimpong area from Relli, Pankhasari, Neora to Rochella which is at 3,400m is really enjoying as one can see the varied flora and fauna of the Himalayan region. One can never forget the trekking on Singalila range which begins from Maneybhanjang, and passes from Meghma, Toughu, Gairibas, Sandakphu and Phalut.


Trekking in Sikkim
There are many low altitude treks which provide opportunities for the visitors to view splendid dense forests, river valleys, waterfalls, flora and fauna while going for trekking in Sikkim. Trekking from Namchi or Damthang to Tendong-Ravangla-Menam-Borong is most thrilling one. Four hours trek from Menam to Ravangla is also exciting. Easy trekking option includes Trekking from Tendong Hill to Namchi. Trekking can be done throughout the year except in Monsoon.


Trekking in Ladakh
Visitors can opt for short and long duration trekking. 10 days Lamayuru-Padum trek and the Stok -Khangri trek are famous trek tours visitors can go for. These trekking involves lot of adventure. Zanskar is one of the favourite spot for trekkers. In Zanskar, tourists can start trekking from Padum to Manali via the Shingo-la, Kishtwar via the Umasi-la, and Lamayuru and Leh via Zanskar range. Among the low altitude trekking, Suru Valley offers the breathtaking view of the mountains.
Trekking in Garhwal
Garhwal, is located in the north west of Uttranchal and includes five districts of Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Uttarkashi and Chamoli. The trek to Roopkund or Kauri pass is one of the most fascinating trekking experience visitors can have. High altitude trek from Bhagirathi Valley to Alaknanda Valley is also very thrilling. Trek begins from Gangotri to Nandavan and then continues to Vasukital, Kalindikhal pass, Arwatal and Mana and ends at Badrinath. July and August is the best season to go for trekking here.


Trekking in Himachal Trekking in Himachal
Himachal comprises of four mountain ranges namely the Dhaula Dhar, Pir Panjal, Himalayas and Zanskar. These mountain ranges makes it a favourite place for trekkers. Enjoy the treks over the Sutlej-Beas watershed or Indrahar pass. The best trek routes in Himachal is the Chandra-Bhaga triangle and the Bara Lacha Pass. From Manikaran to Pulga rest house along the Parvati river is also very fascinating.


What to bring in Trekking
Visitors must carry with them walking boots, warm jackets, sleeping bags, woolen shirts, sweaters, waterproof trousers, woolen socks, Sunglasses and waterbottle . First aid box must not be forgotten. Tents and foam mattresses are provided by the trekking agency.
